With a bang, Lu Tingyuan kicked open the hotel room door and caught Gu Xixi in a clandestine, intimate encounter with Jiang Linchuan.
Calmly, he walked in and took Gu Xixi away, then tossed her a check for three million yuan: money to pay for her mother's treatment.
At four the next morning, a doctor arrived on his orders to examine her, solely to determine whether she could become pregnant.
Late that night, Lu Tingyuan made Gu Xixi watch surveillance footage of Jiang Linchuan gravely injured while tormenting her in bed, his movements brutal as he repeatedly demanded, “Tell me, who do you love?”
“...I love you.”
At daybreak, Lu Tingyuan made her breakfast in the kitchen, burning his fingers with hot oil and leaving red marks.
Before the warmth stirring in Gu Xixi's heart could spread, Su family's younger cousin showed up and mocked her for having no proper standing in the family.
At the same time, a message came through on her phone: Jiang Linchuan had been attacked again at the hospital and badly injured.
Gu Xixi silently clenched her fist.
Using a medical appointment as an excuse, she disguised herself as a nurse and went to visit the gravely injured Jiang Linchuan.
Lu Tingyuan watched it all live from his office.
That night, he forced Gu Xixi into a sexy nurse's outfit and subjected her to every humiliation, claiming her completely.
The next day, Gu Xixi cut off her long hair and dyed it silver-gray, in a punk style.
Lu Tingyuan, meanwhile, made a far more public declaration of ownership with matching couple's outfits and an open announcement of their “wedding plans.”
Caught in a fierce struggle of control and resistance, the two pull each other back and forth. Lu Tingyuan's obsessive devotion and Gu Xixi's yearning for freedom collide amid cold reality and scorching emotions.
Also featuring Lin Wanwan × Shen Que and Jiang Linchuan × Jian Tinglan, two couples caught up in an ensemble struggle over love and freedom.
