Direct Disciple of the Three Pure Ones: I Slay Demons in the City

An immortal child serving beneath the Three Pure Ones accidentally perishes and is reborn as a drowning boy in the mortal world. On the brink of death, he unexpectedly arrives in the underworld, where a mysterious expert teaches him the arcane Book of the Three Pure Ones. But he accidentally lets the underworld's evil ghosts escape.

To make amends, the boy travels through the city wielding talismans and Taoist arts, slaying demons and vanquishing evil. Along the way, he meets Yi Xiaotong, the girl who captures his heart, and falls deeply in love. But he doesn't know that cultivators cannot escape the “Five Fates and Three Deficiencies,” and that he was born to a life of solitude.

More surprisingly, his close companion, who's been by his side day and night, is a descendant of shamans who can summon spirits and immortals. The two become a yin-yang duo, overcoming one crisis after another, yet get caught up in the conflict between the Chan and Jie sects, with a shocking conspiracy lurking behind it all.

To defy their fate and eliminate evil, they travel far to Yingzhou in search of immortal arts. Can the two of them unravel the shocking conspiracy? Can they overcome the Five Fates and Three Deficiencies and stay with their beloved? When their ties to the mortal world are severed, will they be able to return to the heavenly realm?
