Honghuang: I Helped You Become a Sage, and You Want to Kill Me to Mend the Heavens

Yu Changsheng transmigrates as the North Sea Black Tortoise and keeps a low profile for countless eons.

Buzhou Mountain collapses and the sky falls. Nuwa issues an order to mend the heavens and find a pillar to hold them up.

Xuandu leads the three sects of Chan, Jie, and the West in surrounding him in the Eastern Sea. Four swords pierce his limbs. “Black Tortoise, offering yourself to mend the heavens will bring you immeasurable merit!”

Yu Changsheng laughs bitterly. “Who will save the trillions of living beings? And who will save me?”

Xuandu raises his sword. Golden light of merit suddenly shines on the tortoise’s back, revealing the shadow of a human figure.

The immortals are aghast. “Merit from creating humanity? What does this tortoise have to do with Nuwa?”

The Three Lives Mirror reveals the past: before Nuwa became a saint, the Black Tortoise carried her across the Eastern Sea in search of the primordial soil, giving up its own essence to help her create humanity.

In the mirror, Nuwa sheds a tear and swears, “I will never forget this kindness. For as long as I am a saint, I will protect you!”

Back then, the Black Tortoise helped Nuwa become a saint. Now Nuwa would have it killed to mend the heavens?
