Final Instance: I’m the Ultimate Boss

Ten stages.

Nine instances.

A whole group of people died.

In the end, only Laidi and I were left.

She stood before the exit, refusing to go through.

“Big sister, no, it should be ‘we.’” She looked up, her eyes shining impossibly bright. “The year we escaped the mountains, we were ten years old.”

I froze as memories sealed away for years burst open.

“You lost yourself.”

“Then you created ten worlds and searched for yourself, one by one.”

I opened my mouth but couldn't make a sound.

She walked over and placed her hand in mine.

Cold, just like mine.

“Found you.”
