This story is set in the world of World of Warcraft. It is a new ensemble fan work about Battle for Azeroth, reworked from the original World of Warcraft game storyline.
The flames of Teldrassil ignited the Fourth War, while the plague of Lordaeron planted seeds of hatred deep in Azeroth's soil. In this factional meat grinder, where it seems one side must destroy the other, the line between good and evil has begun to blur.
When the Alliance's hardliners, blinded by revenge, brazenly marched across Quel'Thalas's "Dead Scar" and committed an act of desecration akin to the Scourge, the moral high ground the Alliance had long prided itself on came crashing down. Meanwhile, the Banshee Queen Sylvanas, willing to do anything for "victory," drove the Horde into an abyss where it would lose its soul.
The God-King of Dazar'alor fell, and the harbor of Boralus was engulfed in flames. Amid the blood and fire, Jaina, Kul Tiras's naval commander, and Talanji, the new queen of Zandalar, faced each other in a desperate standoff on the brink of destruction. And the Horde warrior Rexxar struggled painfully inside the iron walls of Warfang Hold, torn between loyalty to the Horde and his conscience.
Just as hatred was about to consume everything, a group of heroes who had forged bonds of life and death during the final battle against the Burning Legion refused to become mindless butchers. These were the Paladins, Hunters, Mages, and others from the "Class Halls." They used their wits to try to awaken the last vestiges of reason in both warring sides. Through repeated trials of blood and fire, the Alliance and the Horde would search for the true path.
