The Years Came Late

Years Late is a novel about believing. It believes in the existence of love, the value of waiting, the possibility of reunion, and the permanence of memory. In an era of fast-food romance and instant gratification, this novel offers a countercultural narrative: slow, long, and painful, but sweet in the end. It tells us that time may be late, but it will come at last; happiness may be delayed, but it is never absent. This is the story of Shen Zhiyuan and Lin Wanqiu, as well as the story of everyone willing to wait and believe. As the novel's ending says: “Dedicated to everyone who waits, to everyone who believes in love, and to the happiness that may arrive late, but will come at last.”
