Synopsis of The Great Qin Empress
On the day Nanjing is liberated in 1949, Lin Yan, an underground intelligence agent for the Communist Party, dies and transmigrates to the northern frontier of the Great Qin dynasty, where he finds an amnesiac baby girl wearing a jade pendant engraved with "Changning."
Lin Yan makes a name for himself with Bajiquan and takes in refugees to reclaim wasteland. Over five years, he gathers nine disciples: Wen Yuan, the civil minister; Su Jinyan, the chief strategist; Zhao Shi'an, the steward; four fierce generals; Jiang Haitao, an expert in firearms; and Ye Wuhen, leader of the secret guards. He also teaches the refugees' children Bajiquan and spear techniques, building a force of nearly a thousand fighters.
A few years later, Changning reveals an extraordinary bearing. Lin Yan discovers that she is the missing princess and the only child of the Great Qin imperial family, making her a potential target for assassination at any moment.
Lin Yan gives up his dream of a quiet life in the countryside and passes on everything he knows about the art of rulership. He reshapes ancient power struggles with modern strategy, forges battlefield legends with Bajiquan, and overcomes the limitations of the era through technological innovation. The entire school stakes everything on one daring gamble: helping Changning ascend the throne as empress, reunify the realm, and ultimately establish a constitutional monarchy.
