The Hengjiang Sword's Call

[About This Book]:

Main genre: Ancient martial arts.

Type: Not a feel-good power fantasy in the traditional sense. There is no “safe haven.”

Pacing: Slow.

The later volumes are still in the planning stages. This isn’t my full-time job, just a hobby.

[About Volume One (Part One), the Prequel]:

Now complete and published as a standalone volume (around 300,000 words).

This is not a feel-good story.

There is no safe haven, no golden finger, and no one waiting for you at the finish line.

Lu Wangji climbed out of the mud. He climbed for ten years, all the way to the mountaintop. Then he discovered that there was nothing there but the wind.

Shen Qinggui spent her whole life following the rules, doing what she was “supposed to do.” Then she discovered she had failed to hold on to anything.

Wanhe had nothing. But she said, “To know you and stay by your side, even if only for a moment, is enough.”

This book won’t teach you “how to succeed” or “how to find love.” It simply lets you see that someone else, just like you, may be trapped somewhere, may have waited for someone who never came, may have tried to hold on to something they couldn’t keep.

If you’ve ever wondered: I fought so hard to climb higher, and then what? I got everything people envy me for, so why do I still feel empty? When I love someone, do I love them for who they are, or for who I want them to become?

Then perhaps you’ll see yourself in this book.

Slow-paced. Unconciliatory. No answers.

But long after you finish reading, it will find its way back to you.
