The day they broke up, Lin Wan blocked Lin Qingchen.
It wasn't because she hated him. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to stop herself from going back.
Three years later, he had become a top-tier star. She worked at the company he later signed with and had spent three years avoiding him. She thought he didn't know. She kept blocking him, unblocking him, then blocking him again. Every time she sneaked a look at his posts, she tucked him away again.
Then came the Starlight Gala, where she was forced to attend one of his events. On the red carpet, he looked at her through the crowd. That look didn't say, "Long time no see." It said, "So you've finally shown up."
That night, she received a note: "Lin Wan, we need to talk." It wasn't a suggestion. It was a notice. She clutched the note in her hand and didn't reply.
The next day, she was transferred to his publicity team. He looked at her in the mirror. "You were so good at hiding, weren't you?" He tilted his head, his tone even. "You hid for three years. Why not keep going? Or is working by my side your new way of hiding?"
Only later did she learn that he had never forgotten her. He'd noticed how she kept blocking him and sneaking looks at his posts, watching her go through the same routine for three years. He'd been waiting for her to show up on her own, but she was too good at hiding.
So he stopped waiting. He transferred her to his side so he could keep an eye on her himself.
"You were always the one blocking me," he said. "Now you can't get away."
