[A "Story of Ruyi's Royal Love" fanfic] + [No romance] + [Ensemble cast] + [Snark]
Xiao Ye, a veteran "Story of Ruyi's Royal Love" scholar on X, is watching a snark video when a flash of white light fills the screen and she gets bound to a dream-sending System.
System: “Host, our mission is to cure Ruyi Syndrome...”
Xiao Ye: “Unbind me.”
System: “...Win a million-yuan prize.”
Xiao Ye: “Please, tell me what to do!”
Xiao Ye thinks curing the disease means making a grand declaration and getting everyone to see sense.
But the System tells her:
1. You can't send dreams carelessly. They have to fit the setting, and you don't want to drive the recipient crazy.
2. The worse someone's Ruyi Syndrome is, the harder it is to send them a dream, so you have to start treating those with milder symptoms.
Fine, then let's identify the problems first
Gao Xiyue: “You have the intellect of an eight-year-old, yet they gave you the title ‘Wise.’ They're playing you, Noble Consort!”
A'Ruo: “Poor A'Ruo! It must be so hard serving a master like this! You want to get ahead? You did nothing wrong!”
Langhua: “You tire yourself out acting like a domineering first wife one moment and a modern-day mistress the next. You never had much of a foundation of love to begin with, so why are you getting jealous now?”
Li Yu: “You're a true servant among servants, a 24-karat servant with no higher aspirations! With your servile nature, what are you even getting out of this?”
As one person after another wakes up, the harem starts to go off script.
Today someone refuses to follow the plot; tomorrow someone says what they shouldn't.
Ruyi sits in Yikun Palace, feeling that something is off.
The System displays: Ruyi Syndrome recovery progress: 20%.
Xiao Ye: “...This is one stubborn disease.”
