Jiang Yan was notorious in their circle for being a madman. Everyone kept their distance, except Lu You, the Chinese designer making a name for himself on the international fashion scene, who always stood a few steps away and quietly watched him lose control.
Pei Yu was the only one who urged Lu You to “stay away from that lunatic.” He couldn’t understand why Lu You insisted on staying by Jiang Yan’s side, why the wounds on his wrists kept getting worse, or why he looked ready to shatter every time he came back from the studio.
Then one day, Jiang Yan lost control and hurled cruel words at Lu You.
Lu You really left. He disappeared without a trace. Pei Yu knew where he was, but said nothing.
Jiang Yan searched for him like a madman, and all he got was a letter forwarded by Pei Yu:
“I’m not choosing not to come back. I can’t come back.”
Only later did Jiang Yan learn that the wounds on Lu You’s wrists were a hundred times worse than he’d imagined on the day he left. Only then did he realize that the man who was always so quiet had swallowed all of his madness.
