Li Shimin wakes up to discover that he has transmigrated into the world of Journey to the West.
The good news: he is still the emperor of the Great Tang.
The bad news: Tathagata Buddha has issued an edict ordering him to send Tang Monk on the Journey to the West to spread faith on behalf of Spirit Mountain.
The worse news: Heaven, Spirit Mountain, and the demon race are all plotting against the Great Tang. His empire is nothing more than a pawn on the gods' and Buddhas' chessboard.
Li Shimin is furious.
He was originally just an ordinary young man from modern society, but after transmigrating, all his memories from his previous life return. He remembers everything he read about Journey to the West, Investiture of the Gods, and the primordial world...
Most importantly, he remembers a secret:
The fortune of humanity is the greatest power in the Three Realms!
And so, an emperor begins to lay his plans:
He appoints Sun Wukong as the “Grand Marshal of Battle,” and grants him golden armor and a battle robe;
He takes the White Bone Spirit as his personal guard, by his side day and night;
He forms an alliance with the Queen of the Women's Country, bringing her kingdom into the territory of the Great Tang;
He even has Tang Monk renounce his vows and become the Great Tang's “Protector of the Nation”...
Heaven is enraged, Spirit Mountain grows uneasy, and the demon race stirs.
But the moment Li Shimin holds the Imperial Jade Seal and uses the fortune of humanity to activate the “Heavenly Emperor's Investiture of the Gods” technique
Heaven and Earth change color, the sun and moon go dark, and gods and Buddhas fall to their knees!
Tathagata Buddha says gravely, “This man cannot be defeated.”
The Jade Emperor sighs, “It seems my Heavenly Court is about to change hands...”
Li Shimin merely smiles, his gaze piercing the Three Realms:
“I never wanted to become a Buddha or an immortal. I want to make sure that no one in Heaven and Earth ever dares to bully my people again!”
