"The King of Lop Nur" is a historical novel set against the backdrop of the post-apocalyptic crisis in Loulan's hometown.
**Roll of Poetry**
A young man herding horses in Lop Nur, the sunset is like a blood-stained river.
The throne has never been a blessed place, and you can only see through it when the iron rope is added to your body.
Thousands of miles of west wind urges people to grow old, and how many people are buried in the desert after thousands of years.
When I look back, pastoral songs are playing, and the moon is dancing by the Peacock River.
The story begins with Aksu, a boy who herds horses. He grew up herding sheep beside the old Kongque River. As Ye Hu's son, he was promoted to the throne and became the last king of Loulan. What awaits him is not revival, but a dying city - the river recedes, the salt and alkali approach, the trade road moves north, the granary bottoms out, and the city walls peel off layer by layer in the wind.
He tried to save himself: pulling in caravans, building channels, competing for trade with the Tang Dynasty, and even signed a secret agreement with the Western Turks when he was desperate, using transit rights in exchange for a chance of survival. He is not a foolish king, but a person stuck on a dead end by the times. Every choice he makes "in order to survive" pushes him one step further.
Queen Yuanluo is the most sober corrector, urging him to rein in her horse again and again, but she finally sees her husband slip into the abyss; the identity of the young boy Bai Yueguang Isana has always been a mystery; the concubine Yuenu gave him the last tenderness, but protected her with her life in the night when the city was destroyed - reason, old dreams, and weakness, three mirrors reflected his life.
The cavalry of the Tang Dynasty broke into the city on the night of winter solstice. The secret agreement was exposed, the throne was overthrown, old ministers were killed in battle, and relatives turned back. Aksu was escorted to Chang'an in chains. He changed from "king of a country" to "criminal" in the Hanyuan Palace, and was finally imprisoned in the Honglu Temple Prison. Only two lines of writing on the wall and a dry lake in his dream remained.
This is not the fall of a bad king;
