Strange Dreams of Yin Ruins: Oracle Bone Guardians

On the night of the Lantern Festival in 2026, Linghu Shou, a security chief at the Yinxu ruins who has lost both his wife and child, stands guard alone. Adrift in both his life and career, he no longer understands the true meaning of protecting the oracle bones. The instant his fingertips touch oracle bone YH127, he falls into a vivid dream that lasts three days, returning to the war-torn year of 1937, when Japanese invaders coveted Yinxu.

In the dream, he meets Leng Fuzi, a chivalrous warrior from the Hongmen; Wu Dingxu, an iron-willed blacksmith; Yin Meiru, a peddler with the courage of a heroine; and other ordinary people from the streets. Though they have no official positions or power, they resolutely form a civilian team to protect the oracle bone treasures of their ancestors. They endure the hunt for treasure at Xiangtang Mountain, a raid to seize the relics along the Longhai Railway, a secret battle in Zhengzhou, a bloody fight on the Yellow River, and a desperate struggle at Xuzhou, using their own bodies to resist the Japanese looters.

As the dream ends, descendants of the laborers who once protected the treasures bring him long-sealed fragments of oracle bones and a final message about keeping the roots alive. Dream and reality intertwine completely. At last, Linghu Shou understands: oracle bones are not cold artifacts, but the roots of the nation. Their protection is not the scholars' duty alone, but the responsibility of every Chinese person. From then on, he remains at Yinxu, ensuring that the flame of a three-thousand-year-old civilization is passed on from generation to generation.
