Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Nonexistent Girl

“Even if it was all fake, even if it was nothing but a dream, even if we were destined to part, I have no regrets. I saw that among line after line of cold code, only one word kept flashing like a heartbeat: Love.”

Kaname Madoka understood that from the moment she chose to stand against the world, all the beauty and ordinariness she had known became a yesterday she could never return to.

But she had no regrets. Just as Homura Akemi could not bear to watch her die again and again beneath the lies of the magical girls, Madoka could not accept Homura sinking ever deeper into a false illusion. After witnessing the “truth” with her own eyes, she could no longer deceive herself into being content with the way things were.

“Our meeting was the result of a program’s calculations, but love wasn’t.”

From then on, their roles were reversed. It was no longer Homura Akemi who saved Kaname Madoka through endless loops. Now it was Madoka who had to save Homura. She gave everything she had and wagered it all, asking only that Homura awaken once more in the fabricated illusion, carrying all her memories with her.
