Starlight Falls into His Sleeve

Feng Xiaohe would never forget the farce that unfolded during her sophomore-year holiday. After a few drinks, her roommate Zhang Mingyue grabbed a literature student at the next table and started arguing over whether Li Bai was a womanizer. Their verbal spat escalated into a fight. When Feng Xiaohe tried to break it up, a shard of a broken bottle cut her hand. Covered in blood, she scared off the other student, but left Zhang Mingyue in a panic.

As they flagged down a car for help, they happened upon Kang Bo, a man seven years older than Feng Xiaohe, driving by. He was dragged into the chaos for no reason, yet still took her to the infirmary and stayed with her all night.

Once her injury had healed, Zhang Mingyue offered to write a “thank-you letter” for her and urged Feng Xiaohe to deliver it in person. But after reading it, Kang Bo looked up with a smile and asked, “Young lady, are you even an adult?” Feng Xiaohe opened the letter and flushed: this wasn’t a thank-you note at all. It was an unabashed love letter.

This ridiculous misunderstanding unexpectedly sparked a romance between two people seven years apart in age. It went from the sweetness of first love to a painful parting, then to a reunion years later. Gazing into Kang Bo’s eyes, Feng Xiaohe suddenly realized that the impulsive mishap when she was nineteen had already written the ending they could never escape.
