In the turbulent Republican era, strange events happen one after another.
Shen Zhiheng, young master of the Shen household, unexpectedly finds a mysterious orphan girl named Jinglan. He falls for her at first sight and treasures her like an orchid in his palm.
No one knows she is a crystal orchid spirit born in the underworld, destined to guide souls and ferry the dead, taking charge of the unjustly departed spirits haunting the human world.
Ghost stories in an old mansion, a vengeful spirit in a wedding gown, a wronged soul in an opera house, a lonely ghost in the streets...
One supernatural incident after another unfolds, and behind each strange case is a soul waiting for her to guide it onward.
She releases the lingering attachments of the dead, and he gives her a worry-free life.
She commands the spirits of the dead, and he gives her a lifetime of happiness.
From then on, the orchid in Young Master Shen’s palm has only two duties:
Guiding ghosts, and being cherished by him always.
