Synopsis
Lu Siyan, the golden boy of Beijing's elite, has only ever lowered his head to one woman.
Fu Xiyao, his best friend's younger sister, is the darling he cherishes above all else, afraid she'll break if he holds her too tightly or melt if he keeps her in his mouth. If she wants the stars, he won't give her the moon instead. When she practices piano late into the night, he drives forty minutes around the city just to bring her warm milk.
Everyone knows Mr. Lu is crazy about her.
Until one day, he walks in with another woman on his arm and announces in front of everyone, “This is my fiancée.”
She smashes her cello to pieces, along with her battered heart, and leaves the country.
A year later, she returns in triumph with her “Shattered Stars” collection, stunning everyone.
With red-rimmed eyes, he kneels humbly before her. “Baby, please have mercy on me...”
She shoves his hand away, her gaze cold as a blade. “Don't touch me. You're disgusting.”
But he doesn't know this: the “terminal illness” he discovered back then was a misdiagnosis. The girl he drove away with his own hands was the one who loved him enough to give her life for him.
The cruelest pain is pretending not to love when you love deeply. The deepest regret is losing the only one you will ever love with your own hands.
A desperate pursuit of his wife, tormenting the man to the extreme: he lost her for a year, and now he'll spend a lifetime making it up to her.
“I'm not dirty. From beginning to end, I've belonged only to you.”
