Transmigrated to 1976: The Legendary Life of Shen Wansan

Six hundred years ago, Shen Wansan, the richest man in Jiangnan, had his estate confiscated and was exiled by Zhu Yuanzhang. As he lay dying, he made a vow: “In my next life, I’ll have nothing to do with imperial power. I’ll devote myself to just one person.”

In 1976, he awakens as Shen Qianjin, a young educated youth sent to the Great Northern Wilderness. He wakes on a snowy night with temperatures thirty degrees below zero. With accusations, public denunciations, and no hope of returning to the city, he finds a two-fen banknote beside his pillow, marked with a secret security sign passed down by the Shen family.

More astonishing still, the faded silver bracelet on the wrist of Lin Xuemei, the village medic, is engraved inside with the words: “Cast by the Shen family, third year of Hongwu.” It is the token of love he gave his wife six hundred years ago.

When a modern business prodigy, carrying all the wisdom of the richest man in the Ming Dynasty, is reborn in the era of the planned economy; when two destined lovers separated by six hundred years meet again and cling to each other amid denunciations and wolves’ howls

This tale of wealth, love, and an era’s upheaval begins in earnest on that snowy night in 1976.
