Great Tang: I Got Yang Yuhuan Pregnant

Everything you could want, in an exciting story.

Li Bai’s poem is still being recited across Chang’an: “Clouds recall her robes, flowers her face.”

Li Longji holds Yang Yuhuan by the waist, convinced he is an enlightened ruler for all eternity.

An Lushan, the Hu tribesman, performs the Hu whirling dance in Xingqing Palace and makes the Noble Consort his godmother.

The entire court believes this age of prosperity will last for thousands of years.

Until one day, a young man born a servant asks in front of all the officials:

“Your Majesty, who is the father of Huan’er’s child?”

Chang’an’s greatest secret is not in the court.

It lies in the words Yang Yuhuan says to him:

“If you had come three years earlier, I would never have become the Noble Consort.”

The day the war drums thunder across Yuyang, everyone panics.

Li Longji wants to flee. Yang Guozhong wants to surrender. An Lushan musters troops in Fanyang.

Lu Gui stands outside Chang’an, gazing at the beacon fires to the northwest, and cries out in delight:

“Barbarian, you’ve finally come!

The dragon lies hidden in the abyss, waiting for wind and thunder.

This is a contest between one man and an entire age.”
