Sinister Diary: The Future I Wrote Is Coming to Claim My Life

In the safe my father left behind, I found a black leather diary.

Several lines were written on the title page:

Everyone who picks up a pen thinks they can win.

Let go of greed, and temptation cannot sway you.

Equivalent exchange.

I thought it was just feel-good nonsense, until I casually wrote:

[I wish I could be the lead surgeon just once.]

The next day, I really did take the lead surgeon’s place.

But the patient survived and forgot who they were.

That was when I learned:

Anything written down will come true, one hundred percent.

But every wish must be paid for with a life.

Save one person, and another must die.

Keep a life, and lose a love.

It cannot be burned, thrown away, or destroyed.

Whoever picks it up becomes bound to it.

My father traded his life for a house and left it to me.

Now it is my turn to feed its hunger with my life.

The next person to pick up the diary...

Will it be you?
