The Node Night Watchman

At two in the morning, Lin Feng stood beneath an old apartment building and counted the floors: twelve.

Common sense said the building had only twelve floors, but an extra red light had appeared on the elevator display. It marked a "node." When the elevator stopped at the nonexistent thirteenth floor, a crack split open Lin Feng's world.

The door locked from the inside. A bizarre message popped up on his phone, and suddenly a soft, spongy wall appeared in the room.

Behind the wall were his parents, missing for three years.

Outside it were dark forces bent on tearing apart the city's nodes.

His Martial Arts Editor activated and issued a beginner's quest: find the first node within 24 hours, or have his memories erased.

This was the first night Lin Feng became a "Node Watchman," and the first battle in the city's fight against dimensional invasion.
