Watch The Lonely Gourmet in One Sitting

The series follows Goro Inogashira, who runs an online shop selling imported groceries. At its heart is his search for good food and the meals he enjoys alone during breaks from work. Told in episodic form, it uses close-up shots to bring out the textures of the food alongside the protagonist's inner monologue. Every restaurant featured is a real business. The production team follows principles such as avoiding restaurants that appeared in the original manga and having staff personally search for suitable locations. When he eats, the protagonist follows a ritual of clasping his hands together and saying, "Let's eat," expressing his focus on and respect for food.
