The Shepherd God Game

[Infinite Flow | Rules-Based Horror | Cthulhu | Mystery and Mind Games | Scavenge, Fight, Escape]

To find my sister, who disappeared three years ago, I tracked down an eccentric old man.

He was always counting the paper cups on the table over and over.

There had to be exactly one cup for every person.

Before I left, the old man gave me a yellowed, old train ticket.

"Once you get on, you might not be able to come back."

But for my sister's sake, I still set out on this strange journey.

A frog tour guide in a suit, unfailingly polite.

A shadow that raises its arm by itself, even though its owner hasn't moved.

And an ancient city that exists only in dreams...

Every stop has rules that must be followed.

Every journey may leave someone behind forever.

I had thought that as long as I followed the rules and made it out of these strange places alive, I would eventually find my sister and return to my old life.

But as the journey went on, I gradually began to realize

that some things had apparently never left reality at all.

I had always thought I had simply stumbled into a game run by the gods.

Until one day, I began to wonder:

Had we ever really been outside the game?
