Synopsis of The First Emperor’s Eye
He was just a single father who delivered takeout, until one night during the Ghost Festival, he accepted an order for red candles.
Qin Feng never imagined his life could be turned upside down overnight.
His wife cheated and divorced him, leaving him to support their eight-year-old son and his sixty-five-year-old mother. Life was already hard enough, but the strange red-candle delivery he took on the eve of the Ghost Festival made him see something he never should have: ghosts really did exist.
From then on, he could see another world: wronged spirits haunting a car-crash scene, a bride weeping in an old mansion, and the “person” selling fake antiques at the alley entrance who didn’t have any feet. Worse still, his eight-year-old son inherited his bloodline and asked the empty air in the middle of the night, “Big sister, why are you crying?”
Then the lingering soul of Qin Shi Huang appeared in his dream and snorted, “How has my descendant fallen so low?”
Nine levels of the Great Emperor’s Divine Refining Art, a drop of true dragon’s blood, and a night watchman’s mission spanning two thousand years.
But immortality cultivation is one thing, and daily life is another. His mother is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, his ex-wife comes back wanting to remarry, his son is taunted at school for not having a father, and his colleague Zhao Mingcheng is captured in a village of living corpses...
At last, after gathering the fragments of the Nine Provinces and laying out the Great Zhoutian Star Formation, the First Emperor leaves him with one final sentence as he fades away:
“Deep in the Netherworld, an old enemy of mine still waits. ‘Ying Zheng’ was not the only one...”
And one night, his twelve-year-old adopted daughter, Zhao Nian, whispers:
“Uncle, that emperor in black beside you has been watching you the whole time.”
An ordinary deliveryman’s path to immortality: exorcising ghosts with one hand and raising a child with the other.
