[The Fourth Calamity + Alternate History + Wish Fulfillment + Ensemble Cast + Livestreaming + Conquest + Nation-Building]
I stayed up all night and died suddenly, then transmigrated into another world as a down-and-out noble. My territory was down to three desolate villages and twenty elderly and wounded soldiers, while the baron next door eyed us hungrily.
I planned to lie flat and wait for death, but unexpectedly bound to the Fourth Calamity System, which let me summon Blue Star players to fight for me.
I thought my destiny was about to turn around for good. Who could have guessed these little ancestors would chop down trees and wreck the place on day one, get themselves killed in the wild on day two, and end up pinned to the ground as target practice for enemy troops on day three?
The enemy was closing in, with its forces at the gates. My only hope was this bunch of lunatic players, armed with wooden sticks and shouting, “Let's kick their asses!”
For a chance to revive, the players went completely feral in their race to outdo one another:
They pulled all-nighters on construction, worked themselves to the bone advancing technology, and drew up a plan to raid the baron's castle that very night. They feared no death: when they died, they revived and came back for more.
The enemy troops completely broke down: “Why won't these monsters die? Why are there more of them every time we kill some?!”
As the barren villages rose into steel fortresses and the players farmed every enemy as if they were monsters in a game, Lin Chen felt like he was winning without lifting a finger.
After three months, all three hundred of Baron Crom's private soldiers had been wiped out.
After six months, the nobles petitioned the king, claiming that “demons” had appeared in Blackstone Ridge and begging the kingdom to send troops to exterminate them.
After one year, the royal capital fell.
A million players gathered at the city walls, holding up their phones and livestreaming in sync:
“Hey, everyone! We broke through the city! Come with us as we charge into the palace, first-person view!”
The king trembled. “Who... exactly are you people?”
I, Lin Chen, stood with my hands behind my back and smiled faintly, looking toward the sea of players behind me. “Everyone, teach him a lesson.”
