My name is Gu Qingchen.
When I was a child, a soul of mine was stolen from me in an old graveyard.
From then on, I became dull and slow-witted, stumbling through life in a daze for more than twenty years.
Just when I thought I was destined for an ordinary life, an old Daoist came to my door and helped my lost soul return to me.
He said I was a “Pure Yang Spirit Body,” a rarity unseen in a thousand years!
I then joined the Sanqing Temple and devoted myself to orthodox Daoist cultivation.
Secret thunder arts that take others half a lifetime to master can be summoned by a single thought, and my cultivation advances by leaps and bounds!
By chance, the Heavenly Dao bestowed upon me a Divine Seal for Guarding the Veins, which turned out to be a dimensional key connecting countless worlds!
The sunlit lands of the human realm, the netherworld of the Nine Hells, ancient secret realms, alien domains of evil…
I can travel freely through countless worlds!
I cultivate thunder arts, master Guigu’s secret techniques, and wield the Investiture of the Gods!
My years of cultivation in the mountains are coming to an end, while turbulent currents stir beneath a chaotic world.
Evil cultivators beyond our borders watch us like hawks, and the rift between yin and yang keeps widening.
Japanese onmyoji, Southeast Asian curse-masters, and dark forces from beyond our realm all covet China’s spatial dragon veins!
With my Daoist arts perfected, I descend the mountain and enter the world with my chubby childhood friend.
We solve strange cases and confront urban evils;
we join the Special Investigations Office and guard the human dimension of China.
With the Daoist arts of Sanqing, I suppress every evil in the world;
with the Divine Seal for Guarding the Veins, I protect the dimensions of all the heavens.
I am the heir of Sanqing Temple, wielder of the keys to space and dimensions, and the one who puts an end to cross-dimensional upheaval.
I will become an undying guardian of the dimensions in this mortal world!
