In the second year of Tianfu at the end of the Tang Dynasty, Lin Yuanshan, the grandson of a poor medicine farmer, was born in the Yaowang Valley at the southern foot of the Qinling Mountains. His father died in the rebellion, and his mother died of illness in the mountains. The grandfather and grandson made a living by collecting herbs, struggling to survive in the turbulent times of the Five Dynasties.
When he was sixteen years old, he was found to have spiritual roots for cultivating immortals - but they were mixed spiritual roots that were weak in all five elements, and he was recognized as a waste in the world of cultivating immortals. Zhongnan Mountain Taixu Temple was recruiting disciples, but no one was willing to accept him. Only a sloppy and drunkard-like veteran Taoist Xuan Qingzi made an exception and accepted him as a disciple.
From then on, this poor boy, who was laughed at by everyone, embarked on a thorny road of cultivating immortality. He fell down five times and got up five times; he used the pharmacology taught by his grandfather to make up for his lack of talent, and relied on his stubbornness to fight his way out. He traveled to Zhongnan in the Qinling Mountains, Longhu Wudang, and Kunlun in the Miao territory, experienced in the wars of troubled times, and transformed in the desperate situation of life and death.
However, fate never let him go. His grandfather spent all his time trying to save him, his master was seriously injured trying to protect him, and his family set up a trap because they covet his secrets. He was knocked down again and again, and stood up in despair again and again.
That miscellaneous spiritual root that was rejected back then will eventually awaken into a chaotic spiritual root that is rare to see in ten thousand years. When he finally qualified to ascend to the immortal world, he made a choice that no one expected - to give up his cultivation as an immortal and return to the small mountain village deep in the Qinling Mountains to plant a medicinal herb and keep a light.
Because grandpa said: No matter how great your ability is, if it does not benefit living people, it is not the true Tao.
Where did it start? Tao rises from the mundane world.
