Li Hongzhang and the Beiyang Navy

He was the last painter of the Qing Dynasty. Amidst the suspicion of the emperor and the great powers, he single-handedly supported the Beiyang Navy. From the dream of being number one in Asia to the broken halberd on the Yellow Sea, he devoted his whole life to a fleet, but he could only witness the last dignity of the dynasty sinking to the bottom of the sea with the setting sun amidst the gunshot wounds and ridicule of Shimonoseki.
