An unfinished novel, previously taken down years ago and reposted.
The moon was there that night, the same one that once shone as the clouds returned.
That night, Cheng Miao was drawn over by a wailing sound. He watched the hungry wolves devour the fawn until not a trace remained. In the end, all that was left on the ground was a pool of blood and a few strands of fur.
He closed his eyes, as if he were among the wolves, tearing open the fawn's tender body with his own claws and gulping down the flesh that had been alive and well that very day. The hunger raging in his belly drove him to swallow even the white deer's hooves whole.
