The Campus Beauty Behind the Keyboard

Lin Che, 17, is a senior science-track student at Jiangcheng No. 1 High School. A good-looking but unremarkable top-student type, he ranks in the top ten but keeps a low profile. He is also a top-ranked player on the Chinese server of the online game “Heavenly Realm,” where his ID is “Lone Shadow Star.” Cool on the outside but warm within, he is utterly sincere with those he trusts, though he is bad at handling romantic feelings. His mother is a high school teacher, and his father died of illness when he was young. Su Qingyue, 20, is a third-year student at Jiangcheng University and the widely recognized campus belle of its School of Business and Economics. She is vice president of the student union, with an elegant, cool demeanor. She is the top female player on the Chinese server of “Heavenly Realm,” where her ID is “Clear Frost Moon.” Though she seems aloof, she is devoted and loyal. Once she makes up her mind, she never lets go. The only daughter of a prominent business figure, she has a strained relationship with her father.
