The marquis's household is rife with corruption, and her mother's murderer lurks in the shadows? Rong Heng advances one step at a time, exposing every secret and bloody crime. She drags everyone who owes her into hell and makes them pay back every last debt, with interest!
Everyone fears Rong Heng's ruthless, merciless nature and knows better than to cross this living king of hell. Only the all-powerful, cold-blooded, bloodthirsty Emperor Xiao Che becomes utterly obsessed with her.
He takes a blade for her, stands up for her, and lays the whole world at her feet, murmuring huskily in her ear, "Heng'er, if you want revenge, I'll give you a blade. If you want this empire, I'll give you the throne. Stay by my side, and I'll give you everything."
Rong Heng had meant to use the emperor's power to avenge her family's massacre, never expecting to be caught in his relentless embrace instead, cherished as the one and only in his heart: his beloved, his moon.
Later, she wields fragrance as a blade and medicine as a shield, helping him crush internal rebellion and establish peace across the realm. She becomes the sole empress of the Da Qi dynasty, standing beside him as they gaze across ten thousand miles of rivers and mountains.
