In 1984, 87 young people walked into Laoshan.
Liu Yunfeng, Ge Qingtian, Zhang Changming, Li Zhengheng, Chen Erwa... They have names, parents, unmarried wives, and newborn babies. They crawled in the jungle of Balihe for 187 days, gnawing tree bark when they ran out of food, cutting their flesh with red-hot bayonets when they were injured, and huddled in caves to wait for dawn when they were besieged. Of the 87 people, only 3 finally walked out of the cave. They were supporting each other and no longer looked human.
In 2025, the last survivor returned to Malipo. The panzhihua flowers in Panlong River are in full bloom and glowing red. He touched the names on the tombstone and read them one by one. Someone was singing in the wind, and it was the same song "Blood-stained Style".
This book is about 87 young people who left their lives in that jungle. They exchanged their lives for intelligence, to attack the main peak of the old mountain, and to protect their home and country.
Forty years have passed, and the living one lives for them, while the dead one will always stop at the age of seventeen. Every year, Panzhihua flowers bloom, fiery red, just like the blood that was not finished flowing out on the battlefield that year, and also like the smiling faces on the battlefield that year.
