The Day It Rained Sunshine

Lu Weiyan has a secret: he fell in love with a girl at first sight.

That day, he caught his parents in a lie and was left a complete mess. But then he saw Ji Qiuzhu smiling softly in the sunlight. In that moment, she healed every one of his cracks.

Fate soon gave him a second chance. Beneath a small building, she was sheltering from the rain. He had an umbrella, but quietly put it away and walked over to her.

“Mind if I shelter here for a bit?”

His voice was barely a whisper, but his heartbeat thundered in his ears.

It wasn’t the rain he heard. It was his heart falling for her.

When he spotted her fallen student ID, he finally learned her name: Ji Qiuzhu.

She was a cool, aloof camellia, but with a fierce streak at her core. An icy exterior, a sweet soul, and a sensible way of doing things.

And he was the aloof heartthrob everyone at school admired. Brilliant and brooding, he pretended to be cold at first, but couldn’t stop finding excuses to create intimate moments with her.

They secretly loved each other, but neither would speak up first.

The rain stopped, and a rainbow appeared on the horizon. Facing the rain, he finally said what he’d kept in his heart:

“I like you. You might not even know who I am. My name is Lu Weiyan, but I know you.”

Only later did he learn that the girl whose heart had raced in the rain had already fallen for him, long before he ever knew.
