Formless: Forgetting to Search

My name is Wangxun.

I was once a soul-guiding lantern by the River of Forgetfulness. I fell into the river while saving a soul, and was steeped in a million measures of karma.

Thus began my cycle of reincarnation: a thousand lifetimes.

In every lifetime, I awaken to the ability to see cause and effect.

In every lifetime, I meet the person I saved.

In every lifetime, I die before his eyes.

This is my thousandth lifetime. I work as a mortician at a funeral home in an ancient city, and named myself Wangxun: unable to forget, unable to find.

Then I meet Gu Pingsheng, a criminal investigator.

There is not a trace of karma on him.

But my heart has been burning for a thousand years.
