In troubled times and famine years, plagues are rampant, villages and towns are in ruins, and ghosts appear at night. The people of the Eastern Land are miserable, and the land tells them in a dream: Only the "Sutra of Overcoming Troubles" from the Ten Thousand Buddhas Cliff in the West can ward off evil spirits and save the common people.
Chen Jiugong, a teacher in the countryside, has a kind heart and a hard life. In his previous life, he was a shady official who was demoted to the mortal world for secretly releasing an innocent soul. Armed with a mahogany sword, a yin-yang handkerchief, and a wordless scripture, he set out alone on the Yin Road westward, vowing to retrieve the scripture from Duhua Village.
The road is full of dangerous mountains and rivers, full of ghosts. Chen Jiugong first collected the stone monkey Qi Lang who was crushed in the stone hillock - he had fire eyes to identify demons, an iron rod to subjugate demons, he was as fierce as fire but he was the most protective of his master; then he collected the old man, a pig spirit from a broken temple, who was greedy and afraid of ghosts, but understood the fireworks in the world;
Five masters and apprentices, one division, three demons and one horse, imitate the story of seeking scriptures from the West, and overcome eighty-one difficulties among the people: corpses and monsters in mass graves seek their lives, ghosts in black pine forests break down walls, fox fairies confuse the village and disturb people's hearts, ghosts in ghost cities cut off their return, ghost soldiers borrowed roads and dare not speak, and hungry ghost village devoured people... The further west you go, the more terrifying you see: the mountain god and the city god are corrupt and pervert the law, the fairy's mount boy descends to earth to cause trouble, the gods and ghosts collude, and there are many dark scenes.
They fight evil spirits, solve puzzles, enter the underworld, save wronged souls, see all the suffering in the world, and see through the good and evil of gods and ghosts. Although Chen Jiugong was born in a mortal body, he defeated evil with a kind heart; master and disciple went from suspicion to unity, experienced breakup and redemption, and finally arrived at the Cliff of Ten Thousand Buddhas.
There are no words in the true scripture, but it saves the hearts of the people and saves the common people. When the scriptures return home, the golden light will shine, the plague will dissipate, and the ghosts will return to their places. How many masters and disciples
