This book is really a treasure for me.
At first I thought it was a daily novel about sweeping the streets, but I was confused by the first chapter - the protagonist Li Weiqiang, a 47-year-old laid-off uncle, was put into a department called the "Waste Department" by a distant relative. On his first day at work, a fish bit his nose. Yes, go in through the nostril. Then the eyes turn blue, and tentacles can extend from the mouth... Who came up with this setting?
But the best thing about this book is not the setting, but its "dirty" energy. The author is really unkind when he writes about the environment, which is full of slimy fleshy tunnels, plants that prey on people, and twisted human faces embedded in mountains of flesh. As I watched, I felt the smell of rust in the air, but I couldn't stop. It is recommended not to watch it while eating.
Li Weiqiang writes particularly well. He is cowardly, stupid, and afraid of getting into trouble, but every time he saves someone, he uses his own body to carry it, and even after he vomits, he still says "it's okay." There was a chapter where he was unconscious and his son asked, "Will I still remember my dad after taking the medicine?" It made my nose sore.
Later, the world view exploded - the cylindrical monster at the end of Metro Line 5 was a portal, and opposite was a golden rectangular continent.
