Gu Huaishan, who was expelled from the winery, lived in an oasis resort on the edge of Taklimakan. He regained his craft among the deserted sand and the aroma of ancient wine. Together with Lin Xingwan, he traced the past buried in the winery and ruins, and learned to brew his true self again in frustration.
