I’m a new author, and this is my first novel.
There are heartbeats hidden beneath desks, secret crushes no one dares confess, a repeat student and a current-year graduate quietly drawing closer, youthful missed chances, and a reunion after years apart. The story comes from my most genuine feelings and longings. I’ve slowly turned a tender, bittersweet time into words.
Gu Liang is quiet and restrained, insecure yet dependable. Jiang Bin is gentle and reserved, hiding his love throughout their youth. From their senior-year classroom to the evening breeze on the sports field, from passing each other by to finding their way back together, theirs is no whirlwind romance, just a slow, steady affection and devotion.
As a new writer, my prose may still be rough around the edges, but I’ve put care into every word and every line. Thank you to every reader who chooses to open the book, stay a while, and keep me company. Your reading is the greatest encouragement I could ask for.
When the wind rises, I hope you’ll be there too.
This novel with two male protagonists has a comfortable overall rhythm, distinct character settings, delicate and natural emotional lines, and an unobtrusive transition from acquaintance to love. The plot is both sweet and sad, the tension is sufficient, the supporting characters do not steal the show, and the world view and logic are relatively self-consistent. The writing is smooth and emotionally contagious. It is suitable for readers who like delicate emotions, slow-burning, and two-way running.
