"Wuli Village", a mountain village in southwestern Hunan, is located at the junction of three counties and has limited traffic, so it has retained a complete Wu Nuo cultural ecology. After the last "master" in the village passed away, his descendants who had gone out to work for many years returned to their hometown. When sorting out the belongings, they found a "Village Witch's Notes", which recorded the "weird things" in the village over the past hundred years - each of them was related to some kind of taboo, and behind each of them, there was an unknown joy and sorrow in the world.

When I was a child in the countryside, I often listened to the old lady next door telling stories. Every time I heard a supernatural story, I couldn't sleep at night. I couldn't help but get involved in the plot of the story. When I grew up, I realized that all stories are as explained in this novel. Ghosts are not scary, but human hearts are more scary. There are no ghosts and gods in the world. Ghosts and gods come from the darkness of life and the darkness of human nature.
