In an age of chaos, human lives are worth no more than blades of grass. Heroes need not come from noble beginnings, and conquerors need not care about anyone's preferences. Cao Cao raises an army in Chenliu with the original aim of restoring the Han dynasty, but as he fights battle after battle, he discovers his own peculiar tastes in “judging people” and “collecting” them. The world cannot understand him and calls it the “art of judging people.” Only Cao Cao knows that behind it lie the rules for surviving in a time of chaos, along with an unusual obsession.
