Li Li, a vixen with fur as thick as snow and cunning eyes, likes to squat on the eaves and peek at monks chanting sutras, and occasionally exchanges two strings of Buddhist beads for candy.
Mir, the youngest enlightened monk in the mountain temple, is as cold as a lone pine in the snow-capped mountains. He is compassionate when he saves all sentient beings, but there is always an unbreakable darkness behind his eyes.
An unexpected "ghost-catching" adventure caused this laughing fox to run into this silent temple. She chased the ghost figure into the Buddhist hall, but saw that with a tap of his fingertips, the ghost turned into smoke and dispersed. When he turned around, he looked more like a ghost than a ghost.
"Little fox, aren't you afraid of me?" He asked.
"What are you afraid of?" Li Li shook his tail, "You clearly smell of sugar, and... A little salty like tears."
From then on, a fox began to sweep away the dust in the temple with its tail and filled the monks' long nights with laughter. She caught ghosts not for merit, but just to see him smile one more time; he saved the world, but in her eyes, she tasted the warmth of being saved for the first time.
