A livestreamer is reborn as Wang Yanzheng, the “Emperor of Five Counties” of the Min Kingdom during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Starting out in Jianzhou, in the Min Kingdom of Fujian, a place “no military strategist would bother fighting over,” he discusses things with his online viewers and gradually grows, develops, and expands his power. This is a historical transmigration story with no System or cheat, striving to stay as close to the historical record as possible.
First, a few thousand men from one prefecture take on Fuzhou’s 40,000 troops. Then around 10,000 men face off against 40,000 from Wuyue. After that, he reforms land and commercial taxes, abolishes the poll tax and corvee labor, introduces land and wasteland leasing schemes, and expands the economy. With just one prefecture, he takes on the four prefectures of Fuzhou. And just as the internal rebellion ends, he must face three armies from Southern Tang and another revolt within his own ranks.
There is no System or cheat in this novel, so its political maneuvering stays as close to historical sources as possible. There is no way to instantly increase the population, troop strength, finances, or overall power. The story introduces many figures and events from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, and its battles make every effort to reflect the transportation and terrain of ancient times. This is not a golden finger power fantasy.
