Great Tang: Blind Death Row Prisoner, From the Start He Interrogates Li Shimin at Night

The day after the Xuanwu Gate Incident, Chang’an is purged. I’m a blind storyteller, and because I once sang a verse praising the crown prince, I’ve been thrown into the death row. I’m to be executed at dawn!

Deep in the night, the Court of Karma awakens! I transform into a ten-zhang-tall King of Hell and forcibly drag Li Shimin into the underworld. He has just killed his brother and forced his father from power, and nightmares are already tormenting him. Gazing at the trembling Supreme General of the Heavenly Strategies below me, I coldly toss down the Book of Life and Death: “Li Er, how about you trade ten years of the Great Tang’s national destiny for your miserable life?”

At the third quarter of noon the next day, the executioner’s blade is about to fall. Li Shimin sees the character [Guilt] branded for real on the back of his hand. Horror-stricken, he gallops alone into the execution ground and screams in front of everyone: “Immortal! Spare him!”
