After spending five hundred years grinding away, Wang Yan finally ascended to Heaven, with fifty billion spirit stones raised through crowdfunding in his pocket!
But the moment he arrived, he fell victim to a workplace scam.
He went through the whole Heavenly Court hiring process, from registration and background checks to assignment, only to be shoved straight into the toughest, most exhausting department: the Fire Division. There, he became an immortal boiler operator, watching fires, providing heat, and burning garbage.
With poor natural talent and a blemished record, he was rejected by the Thunder Division, while the Navy was already full. His only option was to work with the Fire Virtue Star Lord on an environmental cleanup campaign.
Everyone else thought the work was dirty and exhausting. Wang Yan’s eyes lit up: “Cinders are treasure, and waste is wealth. Isn’t this a private slush fund waiting to happen?”
Starting as a boiler operator at the bottom, he used his knack for turning waste into treasure to take the Heavenly Court bureaucracy by storm and make a fortune.
After becoming the top boss, he still remembered his humble beginnings. Carrying a box to his superior, he said with a beaming smile, “I brought you a little seafood.”
