[Shen Shubai sat by the pool, clutching his tail and fuming. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. How could Xie Zhiyu do that kind of thing with his tail? By the end, his fluffy, soft tail was completely soaked. It had been cleaned afterward, but he was still furious. He decided he wouldn’t speak to Xie Zhiyu for the whole day!]

When Qingxuan Daoist Venerable brought Shen Shubai back to the Qingxuan Sect, it caused quite a stir. The disciples were all envious of Shen Shubai’s cat ears and tail. They were just about to go over and coax him into letting them touch his ears and tail when Xie Zhiyu scared them off with a cold glance. Xie Zhiyu was a man of noble character, dependable in all he did, so Qingxuan Daoist Venerable had no qualms about leaving Shen Shubai in his care. It wasn’t until later that the Daoist Venerable realized something was off.

Qingxuan Daoist Venerable: Zhiyu, this is your junior brother.

Xie Zhiyu: What junior brother? He’s obviously my long-lost cultivation partner!

Shen Shubai: Bully! You’re always picking on cats!
