There’s a saying in Pingzhou: Once a ship sets sail, it can never return to shore.
The first time Jiang Wen saw Ye Zaizhou, she noticed the prosthetic on his left hand.
The water glass she hurled nearly hit his foot.
The second time was on a cruise ship. Surrounded by people, he exuded a presence as cold as the sea.
“Is he really that powerful?”
“You have no idea. No one in Pingzhou dares to cross him.”
Jiang Wen arched a brow. “Who does he work for?”
“He works for the Bai family.”
The Bai family: the family her father wanted her to marry into.
But Jiang Wen was determined to meet him anyway.
What she didn’t know was that the one-handed man was watching her from the shadows too, like a fisherman eyeing a fish that had swum right into his net.
Here is Awen's story.
