The Eerie Elevator: I Became the Instance Master

[A strange-tale livestream descends, and each of 196 countries around the world selects one chosen participant.]

[Rule One: If a chosen participant dies, a strange tale descends upon their country.]

[Rule Two: The livestream is broadcast worldwide and cannot be turned off.]

[Rule Three: There are no rewards, only punishments.]

Chen Mo was among the first chosen participants.

He survived the first instance, “A Happy Home,” becoming the first person in the world to escape a strange tale.

Not through luck, but because he got hold of an elevator.

An elevator that can travel through strange tales.

An elevator that must devour the cores of strange tales to grow.

An elevator that brought him four “cursed teammates.”

American cowboy Jack, Wyoming's fastest gun, who knows that lonely men die young.

Russian lumberjack Ivan, the silent man of the Siberian forest, whose ax will rust.

British aristocrat William, a hereditary lord who values dignity above life.

French chef Pierre, a two-Michelin-starred chef who can taste dishes made by the dead.

Five countries, five sets of rules, five lives.

They enter each instance together.

They face death together.

Because in this world, the most terrifying thing isn't a strange tale. It's 1.4 billion people calling your name in the livestream comments.

[They think they're fighting to survive. In truth, they're guarding their country's gates.]
