[Youth | Two-way secret love | Reunion | HE]
In their sophomore year of high school, Jiang Yu and Xu Zhiyi were assigned to the same class.
Before that, their only intersection was a physics problem. One afternoon in the first year of high school, a basketball rolled to her feet. He ran to pick it up. He glanced at the paper in her hand and said that the third question was wrong. The auxiliary lines were drawn in the right position and the formula was wrong. After saying that, he ran away. She turned to the third question and found the wrong answer. She never threw away the paper.
Later they became deskmates and one day they shared a wrong question book. In the first half of the book, she wrote wrong questions on physics and he commented on them; in the second half of the book, when he wrote wrong questions on Chinese, she made comments on them. She drew waves next to the wrong question, and he drew a stick figure surfing next to the waves. It was probably the ugliest stick figure she had ever seen, but she looked at it for a long time.
Later, the seats were moved and the notebook was stuffed into the drawer and never opened again.
Reunited many years later, she went to his office to discuss work. There is an old book spread out on the table, with a familiar pink cover and a little rabbit. Opening it, she found that the first half of the book contained her wrong questions, and his red pen annotations were still there. When I turned to the second half of the book, it was densely packed with his words, written from the second year of high school to the year of repeat reading. There is only one line on the last page: I saw a person with a ponytail on the street today and thought it was you. Chased for half a street.
She looked up. He stood in the doorway, the coffee steaming in his hand.
"That book," he said, "have you finished reading it?"
She said not yet.
He came over and put the coffee in front of her.
"Then watch slowly. There is still a long way to go."
