The Di Renjie that is most relevant to history is that in the first year of Xianqing (656), Di Renjie passed the Ming Dynasty at the age of about 26 and was awarded the title of Judge of Bianzhou (now Kaifeng, Henan, responsible for local judicial trials). After he took office, he was falsely accused by officials. It happened that Yan Liben was deposed as the envoy of Henan Province. During the trial, he discovered his talent and praised him as "the pearl of Haiqu and the treasure of the southeast". He was also recommended to be promoted to the Bingzhou Governor's Office and to join the army, which opened the way to become a famous minister.
